Is Your Feature Request Related to a Problem?

I'd like to use Xournalpp to replace OneNote in teaching. So far the first candidate that offers a similar set of features. But to manage and navigate a larger set of pages, I'd need a page title field (metadata) that is independend from page content and a navigator view that shows pages by title.

Feature Description

  • page title field as metadata for every page
  • add, change, delete page title actions
  • navigator pane that displays all pages by title
  • minimum 3 level indentations to manage groups of pages
  • select to view, move, delete, open/close group actions
  • link page: same page can be added in more than one location of navigator
  • link page across files

Alternative Solutions

Additional Context

This feature would be a requirement for us in order to trash oneNote and manage our teaching materials in Xournalpp. Happy to sponsor the development of this feature if that helps.

Probably very similar to the existing request for a "table of contents" feature: #3193

Also, there is a prototype of a "bookmark" feature by @grifball: #846

For linking between pages, see also: #1126 #3684
