How To "Install" and Use Teh Trails

null edited this page Mar 29, 2022 · 1 revision

Hey there runner! New to marker packs or using Blish HUD? Let's get you all setup!

TehTrail's is a marker pack and as such, is meant to be used in tandem with an overlay. Our overlay of choice, due to it's functionality and much cleaner aesthetics, is Blish HUD. So let's start of with how to install BHUD:

BLISH HUD INSTALLATION

  1. Download the latest release from the github repo

  1. Extract the zip to the location of your choice.
  2. While Guild Wars is running, double-click Blish HUD.exe to start the HUD

  1. Once running, you should now have a Blish icon in the top left next to the Trading Post icon

Tada! You've installed Blish HUD!

Blish HUD works as a platform for developers to create modules, these modules are what actually does all the neat stuff. In order to use marker packs with BHUD, we need to install the Pathing module.

PATHING MODULE INSTALLATION

  1. Left click the BHUD icon seen in the last screenshot, this will open the BHUD settings menu
  2. Click on Module Repo, you should see a screen similar to the screenshot below
  3. Either use the search bar or scroll through the module repo window to find Pathing
  4. The latest version will be listed in the dropdown box, simply click on "Install" (your version may be different from the version in the screenshot, that's okay!)

  1. After you'll notice the "Manage Modules" button now has an arrow, click on it to expand your module list
  2. Click on Pathing -> Enable Module. After a few moments, it should now say Enabled next to the version number, similar to the screenshot below

Congrats, you've installed and enabled your first module!

The Pathing module is nothing without marker packs. So let's get our marker pack downloaded.

MARKER PACK INSTALLATION

  1. Left click on the new "Marker's and Trails" icon in the top left, next to the Blish icon
  2. Click on "Pathing Module Settings"

  1. In the Markers & Trails settings menu, click on the fourth tab
  2. This is the marker pack repo tab, from this tab you can download most marker packs. Find "Teh's Trails" and click Download
  3. After downloading, the button should gray out and turn to "Up to Date", as seen in the screenshot
    • As long as the Keep Updated box is checked, BHUD will automatically update the pack whenever it is launched!

  1. Finally, you must reload the markers - Close the settings menu and once again left-click the markers icon
  2. Click "Reload Markers" - Once reloaded, the trails should be listed if you hover over All Markers, where you can fine-tune things like trail color and toggle off unnecessary markers!

You're all set up and ready to blaze trails!
