I was looking for a solution to do quite the inverse of what you were doing, which was to remove script and style tags from a page, but leave all the other ones as-is.
Do you feel like this would make sense for your lib?
Happy to look at making a PR if that'd make sense for you.

Yeah it can make sense. I am not actively developing this for quite some
time, only bug fixing. PRs are definitelly itely welcome :)
So you are actually trying to leave only script / style tags?
