Yay zulipbot!

What else might we want this bot to do, to make our lives easier?

Ideas might come from:

@synicalsyntax heads-up -- you would be best placed to do this assessment, in my opinion.

Those links seem to be all about things that one can just do in CI (and we do).

I think we really only need a bot for workflow management -- automating the process of maintaining which issues/PRs are being worked on.

You're right, and I need to dig up the examples of more workflow/social GitHub bots.

Some things that I'm hoping to implement:

  • Allow users to abandon issues that they're working on by removing themselves as assignees
  • Periodically check the repository for stale issues/PRs and close them
  • Allow users to add labels to issues they've created instead of @timabbott having to manually add them

Probably won't be able to work on the bot this week because of school, but I'll try and find some time during the weekend for developing new features :)

So we've added a lot of features since the last time this issue was updated, and I think this issue would be more appropriate in the zulip/zulipbot repository if we wanted to continue working on this. Should this issue be closed?

Yeah, let's close it. I think we should write a zulip.org blog post about zulipbot pretty soon :)

Sure, let's go ahead.
