shadcn／ui is NOT a traditional component library; it’s a collection of reusable components that you can conveniently copy＆paste＆customize within your apps!

  • NOT installed as a dependency; NOT available or distributed via npm 🚫
  • conveniently facilitates including＆customizing only the components you need 📋
  • supports React, Next.js, Astro, Remix, Gatsby etc.

One of the drawbacks of packaging UI components into an npm package is that this couples their styles with their implementations in ways that can be difficult to customize or alter cleanly or easily; shadcn／ui avoids this problem! ✅
