- Run
npx create-next-app@latest ./
to create a new next.js application in the pwd. - Install the following dependencies with
npm
bcrypt
-> Hash passwords.mongodb
andmongoose
-> Create and handle databases.next-auth
-> For authentication.
- Remove everything in
app/
andpublic/
. - Create new directories/files under the names:
styles/
-> For our newglobals.css
file.models/
-> For ourmongodb
databases.utils/
-> For utility functions..env
-> To store sensitive information like API keys in an environment variable.
- Edit
tailwind.config.js
to have our custom fonts and colours. - Unzip assets such as icons and images into
public/assets/
. - Create
globals.css
insidestyles/
.
This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app
.
First, run the development server:
npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
# or
pnpm dev
Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.
You can start editing the page by modifying app/page.js
. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.
This project uses next/font
to automatically optimize and load Inter, a custom Google Font.
