Issue brought to my attention, when you select a year from the pull down menu, the year that you selected can change if you unintentionally mouse over the line chart. The date you previously selected changes. Users noted it as being frustrating.

this is as designed, as we want to make it easy for users to interact with the chart and access the data in multiple ways (e.g., drop-down, time series, download)
@jpwentz Had an interesting design suggestion for this: if the year drop down is open, we ignore the mouse position for selecting the year. Once the drop down closes again, the mouse position is taken into account and works as it currently does.
