Update search index after saving

First of al, nice plugin 👍

But i think there is something missing or my logic may be mistaken.
Heres my scenario:
I save an entry with the google maps field ( handle: place ) on it, but somehow after saving it, it doesn't show up when doing a simple craft searc:
craft.entries.section('locations').search('place: new york')
Yet after hitting the "Rebuild search index" it shows up, so, maybe possible it's missing some kind of update function within the plugin ?
