ACS BACI properties have been implemented in C++ because it is the programming language used by CONTROL. The implementation in java and python has been triggered mostly by the users of ACS. For example ACS recently implemented java boolean properties as requested by CTA.

Java properties will not be used in ALMA in a short time at least, but we hope that when they will be available new components will be written in java. According to the discussion being held at the last ACS workshop, CTA is willing to have java properties. We are very interested in aligning the implementation of the BACI properties in the three supported programmin languages.
