How to auto launch webui in preferred browser

I have chrome as my default browser but want to auto launch the webui in edge. Is it possible?

Just before the last line of the startup batch file, try using:

start microsoft-edge:http://127.0.0.1:7860/?__theme=dark
call webui.bat

I agree, this does not work. It spins up Edge, runs the normal items, and then spins up the default browser.

Spinning up the default browser is a relatively new behavior in AUTO1111. Where is this happening, and is there an official way to override which browser is opened, without modifying the .bat/.sh files? This should be a configuration entry that's persistent across pulls.

There is a setting in the 'settings' tab where you can check a box to disable auto launch now.

Cool, so under:

Settings -> System

There's a setting called:

Automatically open webui in browser on startup

• Disable
• Local
• Remote

If you set it to Disable, Apply Settings, and then add the browser line above to the last line of the .bat file, it works, and my Edge browser refreshes a few times, and catches the UI after launch.py finishes its magic:

call webui.bat

What I'd love to see is a configuration setting or an environment variable, that allows us to set a specific auto start-up browser.

This works, but
My desired Firefox browser opens first with a dialogue box saying "Unable to connect"
Then as usual the webui opens in default browser (Note- I did the setting "disable" for Automatically open webui in browser on startup
Still it is good that the webui opens in my desired Firefox browser if I do a refresh

What's interesting is that by default, autolaunch is disabled:

I like the idea of autolaunch, I'd just like a way to set it to something else, other than the system default.

Added the below in the webui-user.bat

But the command box ends up with some error without opening the webui. What might be the mistake, I have done?

Faced with the same problem, I think a similar setting in the interface is not enough, something like choosing the default browser for SD.
Because I want to use SD separately from basic classes on the computer.

My problem is that the default browser opens .in which there are about 100 open tabs, which are opened every time the SD is launched. This causes clogged RAM, and other nuances.

SD needs one tab, and a dedicated browser for it =)

It could end up being a little inconvenient but....

I just set the desired browser as the default app to open http links. If you're on windows this is easily achievable. Just do the following:

Open Default Apps window --> Select Default Browser to expand the Options --> locate HTTP --> Change the Default App to the one you desire --> Fin

I know it's super newb-ish and I'm now going to open all http links with that specific browser, but it works and I like it... so there.

can you explain why this could solve your problem, this should be able to set it to use

I have tested that this works for firefox and edge with chrome as system default and it works

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" {url}

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" {url}

I also tested with other browser such as min
theoretically it should works for any browser on any platform that supports opening a url via cli

I use Firefox as well. What was your issue if you don't mind me asking. It works flawlessly for me. Maybe I can help.

Sorry, No offence. I did whatever said in the extension page but the A1111 webui showed error message. The important part is I love using Fooocus versions, for which the out painting or any image to image process is quite possible only in firefox. Hence I thought that shifting my default browser to firefox will be a single solution for multiple problems.

My current worry is after SD FORGE's entry A1111 seems to stay as it is. Though I am happy with FORGE, A1111 is the place where I started since I could not afford midjourney.

As an upcoming film maker, my interest is image to video extensions using my RTX2060 SUPER GPU processer.
