Open a terminal and cd into the stable-diffusion-webui folder. Then type venv/Scripts/activate. After that you can do your pip install things. But I don't know if that's the proper way to install it |

Getting the version right for Torch (and perhaps xformers ) 😁I found that you now need to install the correct version (called wheel?) of torch this can be found as a file here: You need to download this file (+2GB) and run install. I don't know if that needs to be done under the venv (virtual environment) but I placed the file in the script folder and ran install there. so to get to this: D:\stable-diffusion-webui\venv\Scripts> The logic is that you want to install version 2.0.0 CU118 for python 3.10... for Windows and 64 bit. In the git hub directory you find over 1K files you so need to find the correct version for your system. For the current setup I found that i had to use the stable version of python and form that it follows that I also need version 2.0.0 of torch. For the xformers we currently need xformers: 0.0.20.dev526, and I am yet to find out how to navigate git hub to that file - perhaps Finally - for now:If you still are missing the xformers you should probably run this command, under the venv/script...
Having done that I still ended up getting some message about xformers not loaded, and I had to add --xformers to my COMMANDLINE_ARGS= Again I have seen this referenced a lot, but no one tell you how to add more to the line. So here it is, my set up currently reads as follows:

I'm done with my 3060 TI and it's works for me, this my version but don't worry if you can't enable xformers, I didn't feel much of a significant change, it just felt normal render time |

Actually I also face this problem whether I reinstall or not. My Python3's version is 3.10.6. I have a weird issue. Xformers is successfully installed in editable mode by using "pip install -e ." from the cloned xformers directory. Now commands like pip list and python -m xformers.info shows xformers package installed in the environment. But if I cd into some other directory and run the pip list or python -m xformers.info command, xformers is not found or recognised or listed in the pip list. Thus when I run stable diffusion models, xformers is not found. How shall I fix this? Shall I include xformers directory in the environment path? BTW it didn't happen like this before I deleted my environment and created a fresh new environment. Everything was fine in the old environment, I was able to run python -m xformers.info from any directory. But with this new environment, python -m xformers.info doesn't work if I run from a different directory other than the xformers directory and pip list doesn't show xformers package. |

I believe that the instructions given would not work on Windows. I tried
to find the way to activate the venv using windows based on the files
downloaded and it may be in the Scripts folder as Activate.bat however when
I did that it didn't result in fixing this.

3.10 is the minimum? Don't know about that. The modules the web ui use support anything from 3.7. The UI works just fine with Python 3.9 and many modules don't really support 3.10 yet. Torch is, according to their website, one of those that are actually not supported yet even though they made a wheel. 3.9 is more stable and most serious applications haven't moved to 3.10 yet as far as I am aware. And if you can install the required wheels on 3.10 you sure as s##t can on 3.9 too..! I use 3.10 myself and I can say that the web ui actually worked better on 3.9. it slowed down a bit when I installed 3.10, actually. It's a while ago so I cant du if the UI currently works with 3.9 but I see no reason why not. You just get a remarkable that you're not running 3.10 but it lets you install and run. Maybe some users actually stick to a more stable python because they use other applications that will not run on 3.10 yet. And there are lots, due to the requirements file. The web ui does not REQUIRE 3.10 unless it was very recently changed. |

I removed Anaconda and Python 3.11 Removed all the environments I had, I use multiple SD softwares, each using different versions of Python and different modules or versions of Pytorch. That's why I was using Anaconda, it's easier for multiple virtual environments. So I am starting clean with Python 3.10.9 only, and I'll try using virtualenv.exe for my venvs. |

errors related to extensions should be reported to their github page https://github.com/dustysys/ddetailer You can normally delete the extension through the folder in webui. |

I am responding to this because it seems that you are missing stuff that should be installed before even being able to install the basic Web UI. You probably don't have cython installed which may or may not be required. Also this issue:
So check if you have build tools for Visual Studio installed. Otherwise install it for Desktop Development with C++ you can unselect the rest. SO: Install build tools for Visual Studio 2022, as you likely don't have it already: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/#build-tools-for-visual-studio-2022 Execute Then try to run the UI again, what gives you the error is when you try to install terminaltables which uses the cocoapi. That works for me so try that out. Using a tool like this web ui basically requires some Python knowledge, double so if you install extensions even though they should take care of any dependencies. There is apparently no requirements file for ddetailer which must be a mistake and certainly not Python standard |

I am having this same issue, though, I found a section of the stable diffusion webui GitHub page that mentions adding --xformers to the args portion of the code in webui-user.bat. Upon doing that, when running the .bat file again it mentions that the xformers is not compatible and cannot be installed in the version of python being used. Edit: Updating the python install to 3.10.7 from 3.9.7 fixed this issue. |

Same problem here. Solution for me was to edit webui_user.bat : set COMMANDLINE_ARGS=--reinstall-xformers --xformers Thats all. Now it works fine! |

Got this error too. For my experience of SD webui, it often fails on downloading something when installing, but created broken files, so since there are some broken files in the folder, it won't download them again when you re-launch webui next time. So, you have to re-install this broken part to make it work. Manually re-install xformers into its own env is not easy. So, "--reinstall-xformers" is the argument you need if your xformers can not be found. But for what I tried, just "--reinstall-xformers" still doesn't work, some package will only be installed when you have "--reinstall-xformers --xformers" together. No idea, but this is the only way it works. And this webui project, should really check its code to make sure if some downloading failed, some files not with the right file size, it should re-download it again automatically. |

Like I said, I already fixed this issue by using "--reinstall-xformers", my gpu is fine for xformers, just the downloading fails when first installing and it does not install it again then keeps telling me "No module 'xformers'". There are a lot of SD webui's issues are caused by the same problem: Downloading failed when first time installing and not download it again. SD webui should do some checking for these. |

To install a package using pip into a specific environment, you need to activate the environment first. You can keep your files updated every time you use the web UI by adding "git pull" or "call git pull" to the webui-user.bat file, so when you click to run the program, it will automatically update to the latest files before attempting to run the program. Though, this method does have the chance of corrupting your files if there is a faulty update. However, in that case, you can just roll back your updates using git. |

This works for me Go to the SD\stable-diffusion-webui\venv\Lib\site-packages folder and remove any existing xformers folders. Run the webui-user.bat file. |

You can install xformers yourself, generally you should do so because xformers is tied to your torch and cuda version. You do this so: (the last part is important as xformers require triton and of course it has to support pytorch 2) This takes a while because it compiles the binary files for xformers. Several minutes on my i7-13700KF. But you get a build of xformers that matches your environment exactly. It compiles about 370 mb of binaries as well as some other runtime stuff. Verify with:
(for me it reports triton as not available, I am checking this out right now) After this, you simply add to commandline_args: That said, this web ui does require quite a bit of Python knowledge to work well. This is not something you play with just because you like the idea of doing ai imagery - we're not quite at a regular user level yet. By the way, I suggest you upgrade CUDA to 11.8 and torch to 2.0 and set the runtime argument --opt-sdp-attention as this will run much faster than xformers (not sure if they work together). I also refer to this guide: #6932 |

yet I get a simple add these two argument to the line as help text when starting automatic. To reinstall the desired version, run with commandline flag --reinstall-xformers. Then try to build xformers yourself. But before that, try with ONLY this xformers flag: --force-enable-xformers (that worked for me before) - xformers will by default only load if necessary, but with that flag, it will always be forced to load. Before running the web ui, you can also enter the venv and check if xformers is really installed with "pip show xformers". Some people do have trouble with installing the binary xformers, but if you follow my guide above you can also build it yourself, then it will match your environment and GPU/CUDA 100%. Alternative, follow my guide above, upgrade torch to 2.0 and CUDA to 11.8, and use the argument --opt-sdp-attention - that is better AND faster than xformers. |

Ohhh. Yes. xformers is nVidia specific, it compiles against the version of CUDA you have installed and complies with your GPU. Without CUDA and a suitable GPU, it will not work. |

That doesn't always work. That's why I mentioned the force argument: --force-enable-xformers. That will always force the use, even if not necessary. |

I managed to fix it, moving the "venv" folder of the stable diffusion to another location (backup) then I added this line "--xformers" in the webui-user in set COMMANDLINE_ARGS, as soon as I executed it, it downloaded the necessary files from the "venv " again and it worked |

Are you checking in the venv? From the auto1111 directory first do a before doing any python / pip commands. And as @dilectiogames says, you'll need both parameters. |

For some reason you have a dev-version of pytorch installed. Try deleting the venv folder. It should be recreated normally on the next run. |

adding all sort of commands may create all sort of unknown issues everithing up. if possible just make a clean install of automatic, from scratch. save the heavy models in an outside folder, the checkpoints and the controlnet stuff. also the embeddings and the loras if you have them. and the output images |

The readme.md file instructs to run webui.sh. webui-user.sh only has comments and won't do anything unless modified. Otherwise, please explain what you mean. |

webui.sh is not to be touched. The developer created webui-user.sh with the intention to let users specify their command line arguments and set their environment variables in that file. I found these directions about a year and a half ago and it makes sense to do it like this to keep the files that are often modified from changing your personal runtime settings. |

Nobody has mentioned anything about touching webui.sh. In fact, there's a warning right at the beginning of the file about it.
And that would be super useful if the file WORKED AS INTENDED! Sadly it doesn't and that makes modifications POINTLESS. So unless you actually know why it's not working, please stop repeating mixed facts from the readme. Troubleshooting is tedious enough without random comments noise. |

Hey, I've been installing A1111 stable diffusion for a long time and have seen discussions on this page several times at different times. I don't really understand coding so I just looked at tutorials for AI When I wrote this there were already many posts from others to solve the problem. And some of them really solved my problem, like at the beginning of the post which shows how to install the exact pytorch. or like set command arguments --xformers. and others. I just want to give a little of my experience and add an alternative method because after 6 months of not using stable diffusion I experienced the same problem but it couldn't be solved in the same way (its weird). Things to pay attention to are: and my addition is. Maybe you are running the webui incorrectly.example: you set arguments in webui-user.bat but you run webui.bat. then your argument won't work. You have to run webui-user.bat by running as administrator.
Maybe this is a small mistake, but it is very influential. As I was going through, I saw some tutorials that showed running webui.bat so I just ran that, apparently my "set Command arguments" wasn't working. and the simplest way to solve everything is, you reinstall your stable diffusion by deleting venv and repositories files. then everything will be reinstalled according to the default then you can adjust other things such as python, Cuda, or C++ Microsoft Visual Studio. note: If there is an error please correct it. |
