A simple chat web application which is similar to IRC chat.

How to run 🤔?

Follow the following steps to run the application

• clone the repository to your local system

git clone https://github.com/AshishKingdom/chat-app.git

• install the require python modules

pip install websocket asyncio

• Start http server for front-end (use sudo if required)

python -m http.server 80 -b 127.0.0.1

• Start backend server

cd ./backend
python app.py

• Open the browser and type 127.0.0.1 in the URL to see the app working.

Steps for contribution

Please the following steps to contribute into the repo: -

• Star and Fork the repository
• Go to your forked repository and clone it to your local system

git clone https://github.com/<YOUR-USERNAME>/chat-app.git

• Make the changes which you want to contribute. It may include any new features, possible bug fixes or adding documentation

• Commit the changes to your local repository

git commit -m "<replace this with a good commit message>"

• Push the changes to your fork of the repo

git push origin

• Go to your fork github repo and click on contribute button and create a pull request.
• Your pull request will get accepted if it is not spam (like one liner change, fixing whitespaces, etc)
