Crossref

Janeway currently supports automatic assignment and depositing of Crossref DOIs only.

• Crossref settings are available at /manager/settings/crossref/ and are set on a Journal by Journal basis
• Crossref requires membership, you can find details on their site: https://www.crossref.org

We have various settings available including:

• Enabling Crossref DOIs
• Setting Crossref to test mode
• Text to pre-append to DOIS
• DOI Pattern which can use any article attribute (eg. article.journal.code and article.id)

Once enabled, on acceptance, Janeway will assign a DOI based on the defined pattern, this will be recorded as an Identifier model instance (identifiers.models.Identifier). Once DOIs are assigned, Editors can change them. At publication, DOIs will be registered for the article and any of its Data items.
