• Developed a full-stack app by delivering 100+ features and fixes leveraging React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and MariaDB to modernize and enhance business processes for an Ontario-based annuity brokerage firm
• Lead the creation of the UI for managing annuity applications using React and GraphQL, resulting in efficient processing for thousands of clients
• Migrated legacy code for an Excel spreadsheet service to use NestJS and TypeScript for faster parsing and data exporting by 70%

• Developed the MBNA online banking web app for credit card servicing benefiting over 7 million customers
• Participated in pair-programming and deployed 50+ Angular and Java enhancements improving productivity
• Refactored Java REST APIs with optimization techniques and elimination of bottlenecks resulting in a 10% performance boost
• Leveraged UML diagrams to design comprehensive models of Java microservices to ensure clarity and alignment for the back-end team

NCR (4 months):

• Delivered 50+ enhancements utilizing React and TypeScript for several different releases of the D3 Banking web app, improving the UX for over 3 million customers across a dozen banks and credit unions
• Integrated a Redux state container for 150+ components resulting in a 2x improvement in performance and better maintainability
• Overhauled the UI for adding financial information using React and Jest to fix underlying UX and performance issues

University of Guelph (4 months):

• Collaborated on the Ethiopian animal health case study for the Global Burden of Animal Diseases project, aimed at understanding and mitigating the impact of animal diseases on global health and agriculture
• Demonstrated a proof-of-concept solution for providing animal health data to the World Health Organization by implementing an ETL pipeline to streamline the data governance process, facilitate data analysis and reporting
• Wrote a PDF scraper in Python to extract two decades of Ethiopian livestock metrics to reduce manual processing by 90%
• Designed new database schemas for livestock health metrics for ensuring data consistency and facilitating comprehensive analysis
• Automated the storage of aquaculture data using a PostgreSQL database on AWS RDS to enable faster analysis and data-driven decisions by 75%
