Cloning McDebian for use on another router:

Cloning the Debian system is the same procedure as backing up the root file system and restoring it on a new USB Drive except some addition steps need to be taken.

  1. Backup Root File System
  2. Make Root File System

Make USB Drive ready for a new router

Plug the USB drive into your computer and restore a McDebian backup file on it. After that make sure you have the USB drive mounted before proceeding.

McDebian:

cd /mnt/usbkey

rm root/.bash_history
rm root/.ssh/known_hosts
rm etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts

Keep in mind that for each WRT on the network will have to have unique local mac addresses specified in /etc/network/mcdebian-model-check.
