how to program flash chip 49LF080

Dear Sir

i can't do the program of 49LF080 by how hot-swapped the flash chip from 49LF020 to 49LF080 from my xbox old ALD board

please help ,could you share the way for how to program flash 49LF080 and use on Jafar main ALD

by the way , i has did the programmed with LC4032V used the Lattice ips download cable and ipsVM system , now i don't know how the program 49LF080

you either need to program it before you put it on or use the hotswap method from another chip.... there are some other projects that should be able to write the LPC flash with a teensy, arduino, or rasperry PI, but I dont have a link to one off hand

you mean need a good working Jafar ALD board for hotswap flash chip for program,right?

i check in TaoBao china and found a Willem programmer can support for program SST LPC flash but it is parallel port，but i have not any PC has Parallel port

by the way the file for program to 49LF080 is the same XBOX bios file that program to 49LF020,right? i just get the bios.bin file from EVOX and find a way for program it to 49LF080, Is it correct?

i have another idea ,since i can hotswap my old Aladdin chip's 49LF020 flash chip and program it in xbox EVOX flash menu so if change 49LF080 Flash IC to 49LF020 is it possible can working on Jafar？

i saw there has 4 firmware (3 of 1M and 1 of 256k) ,now i program 256k to LC4032 chip , what function difference about these 4 FW?

i missed for looking the readme.md into FW folder, now i got the know what difference of these 4 FW, and seems 49LF020 can work on Jafar ALD, i will try for replace 49LF080 to 49LF020 that programed on Jafar ALD board

it doesnt matter what chip you hotswap from, the flashing routine you use will detect the new chip that you swapped from.

i tried again for hotswap flash IC
at the first i boot xbox for use the 49LF020 Aladdin board and go to Flashing IC menu

and then hotswap Flash IC from 49LF020 to 49LF080 and got the Flash bios feedback "Flash not writeable"

so i think maybe hotswap IC on xbox for flashing just can support the same flash chip model

now i changed flash ic from 49LF080 to 49LF020 on Jafar board and completed the programming by hotswap the board from original boot Alddin chip to Jafar chip
but Jafar board can't work on xbox, could you help for check my Jafar board connection if any problem
i just assembled Jafar on those PINs that assembled Alddin board's and connect D0 on xbox main board
Jafar board's 1 and 2 keep open

by the way Jafar board's LED keep off when turn on xbox but Alddin board LED is on when turn on xbox

try pulling d0 from the chip and just grounding it to the case or a screw...

You probably put the LED on backwards and blew it, the ground is on the right side

use another 0603 LED then the LED can turn on now
i tried to soldering D0 to Jafar board GND also can't working ,xbox will 3 times auto power on and off

i re-did programming with Jafar board's flash ic

and then re-did programming with LC4032(USE 256K File)
all process successful ,but Jafar board still can't working (share photo in next comment)

seems every thing is correct but i don't know why Jafar board can't working
item 1. connect D0 to Xbox main board's Aladdin chip D0 connect PAD,assembled Jafar board on these PINs which assemble Aladdin chip=can't working
2. the connection of item 1 and add short 1 and 2 to GND=can't working
3. the connection of item 1 and add short 1 to GND=can't working
4. the connection of item 1 and add short 2 to GND= can't working
5. assembled Jafar board into which PINs of assemble original Aladdin chip and connect Jafar Board D0 to GND=can't working
6. assembled Jafar board into which PINs of assemble original Aladdin chip=can't working

you could also try removving the FET and putting a wire across these two points, there may be a sign error in the VHDL

you are corrected
now my Jafar board can worked on my Xbox

now list the point hope can help some one who like original XBOX and want build Jafar ALD
1.remove FET
2.wire these two points of EFT pad


3.connect Jafar D0 to xbox main board's D0 PAD along the old Aladdin's guide
remark: if use old Aladdin chip for hotswap to Jafar on xbox for programming Jafar flash must make sure Jafar's flash IC same as the Aladdin's which you use for boot your Xbox's
