How it works

When loading an aircraft for the first time, StableApproach tries to download a configuration from this GitHub repo or, if not available, generates a default one.

While flying, StableApproach records all datarefs required for analysis. After landing, as soon as the aircraft has slowed down to taxi speed, it begins analyzing the recording. Depending on user settings, it then displays either a short or a detailed report with a lot of information about approach, landing and rollout.

Splash screen / loading screen

After starting X-Plane, this window will show up at the top and show if you have the latest version of StableApproach.

If the version number is written in green, StableApproach is up-to-date. If it stays white, it was not able to check for updates.
(Make sure online mode is enabled in the general settings window!)
In case there is an update available, a download button will show up.

After the airport and navigation database has been loaded into StableApproach, the green READY indication will show up, and the window will disappear within 5 seconds.
You are now ready to fly.

First flight

If you use an aircraft for the first time with StableApproach, this window will show up:

You can close the window and are ready to go!

Report

After landing, when reaching taxi speed, a short report like this will show up: In this case, the landing was STABLE with a touchdown rate of 91 ft/min and maximum vertical acceleration of 1.2G during touchdown. Also, it shows me that this was an autoland. White messages are "information only" message. They do NOT mean you did something wrong.

During this approach however, my sink rate was too high, and I moved the flaps below check height, both of which causes the approach to become UNSTABLE :

Had an unstable approach yourself? No problem! Move your mouse over the failed requirements to see a description.

To see an much more detailed report, simply click on the SHOW MORE button. If the short report window already disappeared, you can always see it again via Plugins->StableApproach->Detailed report()

This landing with the Zibo B738 in Miami was stable, since there is no orange "WARNING" at the bottom. However, I made a bounced landing, which StableApproach warns me about. Also, just as an information, the autopilot was engaged below check height.
