Would be a good example to showcase the "Box" model with 3 Bounded directions.

We can then compete with https://mitgcm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/examples/barotropic_gyre/barotropic_gyre.html

Worth mentioning that #640 also tests the box model (but is still a work in progress).

I'm closing this issue because I'm judging that it's not of current, timely relevance to Oceananigans development. If you would like to make it a higher priority or if you think the issue was closed in error please feel free to re-open.

We can't afford more examples until #2996 is resolved either.
