Support Java 9+

Although it notes in the README to specifically use Java 8, a lot of people do not. Which is understandable. Some might not read it or some might not know what their system's default Java version is. The best solution would be a trial-and-error port of the code causing issues to make sure it works on every Java from 8 onwards
