Pongball is a community developed game initially developed as a community activity across Double Fine's 2017 Amnesia Fortnight event, blending Pong and pinball gameplay in a frantic multiplayer experience.
Pongball uses an open contribution policy where community members from around the world are welcome and encouraged to contribute whatever they can and iterate on each others' work.
Development of Pongball is coordinated via GitHub issues, the #community-amnesia-fortnight IRC channel on irc.foonetic.net, and the Double Fine forums.
Initial direction for the project has been provided by community members lightsoda, bobsayshilol and Cheeseness. Once a solid, playable prototype has been achieved, the community will branch out to address longer term ideas.
In addition to being featured in Double Fine's forums and Amnesia Fortnight streams, Pongball received mentorship from Double Fine developers in the form of daily Q&A streams.
Pongball was also included with the downloadable prototypes made available to Amnesia Fortnight Humble Bundle supporters.
