DUO:000015 (“No general methods research”) #47
Comments
The NIH/US use case benefits from an NMDS term, as datasets are often viewed as eligible for methods research even without such annotation - meaning the prohibition is the more significant term. |
Actually - suggest a change to the description and not the title. |
I concur with that suggestion as well, though suggesting being explicit that it is with reference to methods work outside of the acceptable use parameters (e.g., for a cancer DS dataset methods work in cancer research would be fine). That might be understood from language in the broader description that is not excerpted here, so please disregard if not relevant. |
Agree on changing the definition. If there is a need for an (N)MDS term we'll create a new ticket |
@GiselleMarie do you still want the description to be changed? Just checking as you closed the ticket. |
@mcourtot sorry my bad. Don't know why I closed - yes description should be changed. |
I also wondered if title and description have conflict. The description says "includes methods development research", |
I think we are all in agreement then. |
No change to term name. |
The definition and the title of the DUO conflict with each other.
DUO:000015 (“No general methods research”) - description = use includes methods development research"
This was highlighted by Sanger who would like to use the ontology but can't whilst there is a mismatch between title and description.
Suggest a change of Title to "general methods research"
