The version of git specified by the installer results in a 404 and the installer exits.

[root@esg-pre2 esgf-stuff]# wget http://198.128.245.140/dist/devel/git/git-1.8.4.2.tar.gz

HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found

Fixed with 712f20c
Pardon, oversight on my part, didn't expect that change to go out. With the given commit, we are fetching it straight from kernel.org - not from rainbow... though a backup is posted on rainbow if this version every falls off the edge of kernel.org (doubt it).
