Installation

Building the Robot

The robot for the project is based on the GRIPP3R-robot from LEGO MINDSTORMS. Download the manual and follow the instructions from page 1 to 57.

Setting up the EV3

  1. Download and flash the ev3dev OS for LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 according to the official Getting Started Guide (In this project, the ev3dev-jessie-2017-02-11 version was used). Make sure that the ev3dev OS is booted during startup.
  2. Follow the official Connecting to the Internet Guide. In this project, the Connecting to the Internet via USB guide was followed to establish internet connection. Make sure that the EV3 has a dedicated IP-address after the configuration.
  3. Follow the official Connecting to ev3dev Using SSH to configure connection to the EV3 via SSH.
