Main menu not showing

After initial start up of the dashboard, clicking the main menu icon in the upper left corner does not bring up a menu. the menu icon simply changes from the "hamburger" icon to an "X" icon.

Environment
OS: RHEL8.4
Yarn: v1.22.10
Node.js: v14.17.6
Browser: Firefox v91.0

Note that the browser window is not maximized and the "Status", "Visualization", etc. tabs do not appear as expected. Once the browser is maximized, those tabs do appear and function as expected. However, reducing the browser window again brings back the non-functional main menu.
