Consider creating functions like check_genie_access() that check each level of authentication to better help users troubleshoot.

Levels of Authentication:

  • Do you have a Synapse account you can log into?
  • Can you access the Public Data
    • have you accept the terms of each data release?
  • Do you have access to the Consortium Synapse Project?
  • Do you have access to each version of data?
    • have you accepted the terms of each data release?
