It is meant to serve as a starting point for a formal ontology of sigillography enhancing the knowledge of those experts who created VIS. The VisSkos.xml represents the information created by the Comité de Sigilllographie. Any changes should represent information found as well in the 1990 printed edition of the VIS. VISplus.skos.xml is the living document adding new concepts, creating new definitions, changing hierarchy etc.
