Scenario:
Dataverse 1 has two subdataverses 1.1 and 1.2. Each of those subdataverses has datasets.

When I linked to Dataverse 1, I saw both subdataverses in my results, but none of their contained datasets. Manually, reindexing Dataverse 1 did not seem to help; I had to manually reindex dataverses 1.1. and 1.2.

So it seems that linking a dataverse doesn't reindex recursively down. (my guess is indexing generally doesn't do that, and maybe it should(?), but definitely in the case of linking.
