Summary
The following changes are made to Intel® hardware accelerated media:
Overview
Intel® Media SDK is no longer active. Intel® oneVPL is the 2.x continuation of Intel® Media SDK. Intel has ceased development and contributions including, but not limited to, maintenance, bug and security fixes, new releases, or updates, to this project.
Intel® Media SDK has forward compatibility with Intel® oneVPL GPU runtime (libmfx-gen.so.1.2) in the scope of API features supported by both 1.x and 2.x API series. As such, if application is built against Intel® Media SDK, it still can work on new platforms
If you have an ongoing need to use this project, are interested in independently developing it, or would like to maintain patches for the open source software community, please create your own fork of this project.
For continued support and access to new features, Intel® Media SDK users are encouraged to read the transition guide on upgrading from Intel® Media SDK to Intel® oneAPI Video Processing Library (oneVPL), and to move to oneVPL as soon as possible.
Intel® Media SDK GPU runtime will be available for download as part of
Intel® 6th-11th Gen Processor Graphics for Windows* and General Purpose GPU Drivers for Linux* Operating Systems* without updates for Legacy platforms. Refer to Media SDK Support Matrix for additional details.
