Concentrated Solar Power

CSP

Solar plant with mirrors that heat a central point. There electricity is generated with steam. They are placed only in desserts. The capacity factor is 20-90% (meaning the time the system is being operative. Source [2])

Costs:

CSP cost about 2,50-4$ per Watt (2013) Typical sizes are (2013): 150-380 MW plants. Costs of a 150 MW plant would be 375-600 Millions The electricity price for consumers would be: $0.12 to 0.18 USD/kWh

Prices of plants are expected to decline, but there are not enough plants built to actually prove that and there is steep competition from small PV systems.
