Adding SSH monitors

I think your approach is much better than uptime and watchmen. I would like to extend it and add ssh monitoring so one can make sure that one can login via ssh. I tried to understand how to add a new poller and was confused. Any hints you can provide. I want to login to a remote ssh machine, assume I have all the details for login and record the time it took and whether it succeeded or failed.
