I think we need to refocus on how Ama works. Here's some new ideas to enhance the workflow:

  • Only the top 3 vote-rating questions are selected each week. This will keep TGIF from getting too long. It'll also force people to vote if they ever want their questions answered.
  • A minimum of 2 is required to be selected for TGIF.
  • A rating of -2 closes the question automatically -- it shows general dislike in the question and helps to weed out the silly questions.
  • Re-open 1 or 2 questions at random every week. This keeps accountability high, and helps force people to vote for what they really care about. Any re-opened question not selected for TGIF will be automatically closed at the start of TGIF so it doesn't linger forever and overly crowd the list of options for people to vote on.
