Tracking training progress in tensorboard

Hi,

I see in the documentation it is possible to summarize images from e.g. a GAN in tensorboard. Is it possible to create a tensorboard log file that just contains information on some basic scalar quantities over the training process (e.g. the loss value, or some other metrics).
If not, what alternative method do people use to easily visualise training with LBANN?
