Related: #4791.

Did you install this from the Gentoo package repo? If so, try downloading the appimage from lmms.io and see if the issue is fixed.

Yes, I did.

If so, try downloading the appimage from lmms.io and see if the issue is fixed.

This is not an appropriate solution, but thanks anyway.

I guess that gentoo maintainers are "guilty" of the bug?

No, it's not, but I'm asking you to check if it works. You are certainly under no obilgation.

Based on the issue I linked, I suspect the appimage will work. This would confirm that it is a bug with how Gentoo is building LMMS, but I can't be sure without testing it.

I'd checked it — it works fine.

By the way, can I somehow change that default spring green #0bd556 colour to something else?

I don't know much about making themes for LMMS, but based on a quick image search it seems to be possible. It looks like there's some useful info here: #5025, which you may have already found.

As for this bug, it may be worth reporting at https://bugs.gentoo.org/. I suspect the comments in #4791 cover the root cause.

Thanks for the report!
