There were some important fixes (e.g. "Fix buffer overflow in record_CW") and features (e.g. OpenSSL 1.1.0 support). However, some distributions (e.g. Arch) prefer to package released versions and not random git snapshots. Can we have a new official release, 0.9.15, please?

@patrakov please note that you can always help by taking on some of the maintenance burden. You could

There are many ways to help, and all of them make it easier on the maintainer to fulfil your wish.

Thanks for sharing the TODO list. I can help with #33 and the NEWS file, will try to do that on this week.

Thanks for sharing the TODO list.

Please note that I merely listed a couple of tasks I figured to be essential, from an outside perspective. @bk138 is LibVNC's/x11vnc's maintainer now and may have different ideas what needs to be done.

Nevertheless, any help you can provide is more likely to get your needs addressed sooner rather than later, that is for sure.

I unfortunately can't reproduce the outstanding cursor-bug; I'll try to, on a more up to date system soon.

@bk138 do you use prepare_x11vnc_dist.sh ? To be honest this doesn't look pretty for a release script :) How do you do releases?

@bk138 Would you merge updates to README.md to be better readable in Markdown? If so, I'll have a look in case I'm bored.

prepare_x11vnc_dist.sh is outdated, me thinks. Releases are done in github fashion now by tagging a release. And yes, I'd merge README updates :-)

@bk138 bk138 added this to the Release 0.9.15 milestone Apr 27, 2017
buildroot-auto-update pushed a commit to buildroot/buildroot that referenced this issue Apr 29, 2017
This switches to x11vnc's new upstream location at github. Autoreconf is
added because it's only a code snapshot release. Subsequent releases
will most probably look the same, see

What's holding back 0.9.15 right now? It really would be a quite important release. Thanks for your work!
