Creating a new Location

What is a Location?

A Location is an individual space or place that users will experience through your website and/or app.

Typically, Locations are represented as points on a map, while Areas are represented as polygons.

This means that, in general, the best way to include something like a historic building in a Project would be to create a Location. If you wanted to include something like a neighborhood, creating an Area would be most appropriate.

Creating a new Location

Once you have created a new Project you can start adding/creating new Locations.

To get started,

1. Select Locations from the menu on the left.
2. Click on the dots to the right of the Project you want the new Location to be in.
3. Scroll down and select New Location. This will open a default map tool.
4. Find the place you're interested in by typing in the search bar, zooming in/out, or dragging the map. Drop the pin to select the location. When you're happy, click Done!
5. Follow the instructions on the page to add content and media to your new location. When you're done, click Save Location.
