transfer this issue to the MySQL extension repository, MariaDB support will be added in the MySQL extension.

@alanrenmsft - not sure this needed to be transferred as opposed to closed? I use this extension everyday on both MariaDB and MySQL, across processor architectures, local, docker, and various managed cloud PaaS implementations, never even noticed an issue relative to MariaDB vs. MySQL.
