Just as LET is a friendly shorthand for DEFINE DATA, I wonder if it wouldn't it be nic e.g.
yes? SYM my_sym = "some string" ! full alias 'SYM[BOL]"
to provide a friendly shorthand for DEFINE SYMBOL?
