Backups for Cascade arent usable?

I'm trying to learn the magic of Stable Diffusion finetunes.

I'm currently using 10 epochs. I had set it to make a backup every 2 epocs.
The final model works fine. But some of the snapshots for earlier epocs worked better, so I went into the backup dir, and copied out the "prior" directory safetensors file to be stage_c in my unet directory. Just like I did with the final model.

And comfyui loaded it... But just gave me a black image.
Are the backups broken for Cascade finetunes, or is there some step I'm missing doing?

Backups are not meant for inference. The should only be used when continuing the training run. If you want to save regular checkpoints during training, use the save feature on the backup tab unstead
