awatcher is a window watcher designed to be used in combination with Activitywatch, an open-source time tracker that is already in nixpkgs. Activitywatch needs a window watcher program running to get info on what programs are open and for how long.
nixpkgs already includes the default window watcher (aw-watcher-window) and the WIP wayland version (aw-watcher-window-wayland), but awatcher supports both X11 and Wayland, while featuring better Wayland support than aw-watcher-window-wayland. This would allow using Activitywatch in combination with KDE or Gnome on Wayland or when running Hyprland.
