Awesome! So many spooky treats (with some neat tricks). Very curious about what a christmas release might look like... |

OAAB_Data Release 1.12.0
Although a few days late, this was meant to be something of a Halloween Update. With corpses, bone piles, and weapon-wielding dwarven spectres, there are now more options to make your levels more macabre. Word of warning to anyone who doesn't want to see low poly depictions of dead bodies: go no further. But we didn't leave it at that, and there are a few other exciting additions this update.

New assets
Corpses
For a long time, it has bothered me as a level designer that if you want to represent a dead actor you either have to use a skeleton or set an NPC's health to 0 (which has issues with placement unless you have a lot of space). So I have wanted more corpse assets like later games added but never been happy with the scant few resources available over the years. So I have created two corpse variants each with a variety of poses: burnt corpses or rotting corpses.
To help display the various gore/corpse/macabre assets, we have added OAAB_Gore to OAAB_Cells.esp.
Bone piles
I don't have a specific use for these "over the top" piles of bones, but I'm sure some mod authors will find these useful at some point. These were made using Blender's physics engine.
Dwarven spectres
A while ago I made a mod which added female dwarven spectres to the game. I have "vanillafied" those meshes, optimized them a little, and added them to OAAB_Data as a new encounter.
That was an easy addition, but while looking at the dwarven spectres more closely, I noticed that there were pieces left behind from when Bethesda obviously intended to let them use weapons and shields. I took this as a challenge and decided to make this work. It ended up being a fair amount more work than I expected and I ended up tweaking almost every single animation and making a couple brand new ones. But in the end, I created a spectre variant which can hold weapons! If you use OAAB Leveled Creatures, then you'll get to encounter these in game in both male and female variants.
A little bonus with the spectres is that I have created some of the equipment shown in the official concept art. Namely the shield, hammer, and sword & sheath. For now, the shield is hardcoded to the spectres, but may be added as a standalone object in the future (full disclosure: I'd like it to accompany a full dwemer armor set).
Streams
This is a pretty big one for me. I have wanted good stream models for a while. I finally acquired enough knowledge that I felt I could do these right. I actually reverse engineered the Skyrim stream models. So don't be surprised if you notice similarities. At the end of the day, the main technique used here is just regular UV animations. The trick is how the mesh and UV are set up to simulate natural flow. As well as some decal tricks for the underwater caustics.
Unsurprisingly, these are much better shown in videos than static images. And there are a few supplemental meshes added as well like water ripples and transition pieces.
And some videos showing the meshes in action:
To go along with some of the new water assets in this version, we have created OAAB_Water in OAAB_Cells to show everything that's now available.
Wide waterfalls
The waterfalls in Morrowind are relatively narrow and overlapping them to make wider versions doesn't always look very good. So this is another thing I have wanted for a while and finally got around to making. These meshes are atlased versions of the OAAB waterfalls (based on Better Waterfalls) and so should be more performance friendly. Soon, I will transition the Better Waterfalls and other OAAB waterfall meshes to atlased versions.
Pillows
By popular demand, Remiros' pillows from "Of Pillows and Peril" have now been merged into OAAB_Data. If you use OAAB Leveled Lists, these pillows will now be found in miscellaneous loot. And for modders, now you will have ready access to more pillow variants than the 2 vanilla options!
Ebony and Glass Alchemy Apparatuses
Created by Remiros, these beautiful alchemical apparatuses are actually based on the TES3 book Hanin's Wake. So these will make for lore-friendly and exquisite instruments for rich alchemists.
Torn rugs
Recent OAAB_Data updates have been adding more broken, ruined, and ripped assets. So these rugs will make a fitting accompaniment to the torn tapestries added in version 1.10.0.
Shipwreck interior additions
Version 1.11.0 added the shipwreck set. But I missed some bits in the vanilla shipwreck interior that can help flesh out the set some more. So those are now included in this version.
