9/8/2015 (Please twitter us to vote on the design proposal) Unify NuGet provider name as 'NuGet', use 'Version' field to distinguish different implementations. With this approach, nuget-anycpu.exe that wraps around the original V2 nuget.exe will have lower version, while OneGet team's own implementation of NuGet v2 client, that was called NuGetLight provider, will have higher version than nuget-anycpu. This will hide the detailed implementation of NuGet client and present as the same provider name, so that providers or automated scripts relying on NuGet provider will not need to change their code. For users who want to choose a specific implementation it is still available by specifying the Version. By default, NuGetLight will be bootstrapped as it has higher version.
