field hangs if mercurial not installed

on first start, field just hangs (bouncing icon) if mercurial is not intalled. it should probably give an error message.

after installing mercurial everything is ok

Having a hard time duplicating this. What I can duplicate is Field not moving the error message window forward, and it getting buried behind everything else.

that may be the case. it's possible i just did not find the error window.

Same error with Field Beta 12 on Ubuntu 13.10 32 bits. After Mercurial installation, Field starts normally.
