Hi, I attended the NY Video meetup where I learned about your app. Kudos to your app. I also blogged about it and that meetup. Anyway, I tested your platform but I could not get my uploaded audio to work, i.e., transcribe. Btw, your Contact nav doesn't seem to be working.

Hi @dennisclemente

Did you download the latest release of the app from the release section?
( by clicking Download Os xapp in main project page )

The online demo only showcase demo transcriptions and does not support uploading a new video. As for now the app is a desktop OS X app only.

Let me know if you have any further questions

Pietro,

I use a PC btw. And yes, I found only too late that the site is only demo.
Is there a link for a PC download? I am also struggling with the
instructions (not as familiar with github) and just gave up.
I like what you're doing with this and hope I can just make it work.
Thanks

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Unfortunately at the moment is Mac only, but I'll let you know if I get a round doing a PC version.

NWJS (which is what the app is built on top of) lends itself quiet nicely to do cross platform development( mac, win, linux) but there are a few things that would need adjusting

  • Use of a path library whenever referencing files across the code to deal with back/forward slashes differences between Mac and PC.
  • ffmpeg and ffprobe binary compiled for pc.
  • seeing if there's anything else that needs adjusting...

Might turn out that long term it be easier to make a web version of the app, and therefore making it available on all different platforms including mobile. To do that is a matter of adding user authentication and a backend server.
