I'm trying to make dumb_runtime_dir to works OOTB on Alpine Linux. The last remaining problem is that the path /run/user isn't there, and dumb_runtime_dir will not create it itself see.
As ifreund said, VoidLinux does create this path with its 00-pseudofs.sh initial runit service.
I would say that OpenRC should also do so in bootmisc.
OpenRC itself seems to correct place to solve this, so that it would works also on Gentoo.
Can you help?
