Licences

Pahka design team favors freedom and openness in all aspects of the project. Everything is to be licenced with the least restrictive licence suitable for that part of the design. We prefer Mit/Athena/BSD style nonrestrictive licences to GPL style but as some work is to be derived, toga hippie licences will be tolerated.

Software design tools

We like to keep the contributing easy for everyone and their favourite tools. That pretty much means we'll be using a make program for source project building and test automation. Everything that can be, will be a text file editable on Your Favourite Text Editor.

Hardware design tools

Not having selected any tool yet, we will try our best to select some open or at least free (as in beer) to use design tools. That is, Eagle is an option but we'd sure like to use some open source design software for schematic and pcb design.

Concept design tools

We are currently testing some non-open real time collaborative diagram tools because they are very cool and allow for free (as in beer) to use licencing for single project small teams. We can use pen and whiteboard and dia but designing online is cool. Roughly 3K. Tip us for open real time collaborative diagramming tools and we'll drink a toast for you. Possibly with you.
