Also reminds me it'd be convenient to be able to have a button to translate posts using a configurable service.

Just an observation: I see only left-to-right characters in the screenshot (the script is devanagari which is LTR, probably hindi).

Wild guess: the problem may be more subtle with width computation or possibly combining diacritics.

RTL scripts (arabic, hebrew, etc) often remain problematic on terminals in general, unfortunately, but I don't think this is related.
