Firebase storage image files download lag

Describe the bug
I have several user profile images which download from Firebase Storage. As soon as a user joins the chat the Image lags a bit until it loads. It looks like it freezes for a couple of seconds. No error log though.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to '...'
2. Click on '....'
3. Scroll down to '....'
4. See error
