Adjust Option Menu to show options properly

So, in my app I got the option menu widget inside a small frame. Everything works fine, but what bothers me is that the text from the option menu seems to spill over to the selection arrow, like that:

While it does not impede functionality, it looks quite ugly. Anybody knows how to correct this? Since "dynamic_resizing" is by default enabled, I was hoping this would take care of the problem, but it does not. Here is the relevant part of the code:
