[HL2DM][FeatureRequest] Make it FREE TO PLAY

I'll show you some statistics from www.steamcharts.com.
This statistics clearly shows us that in 2015/16/17 online in this game will be less than 50 players.
This proves that the game must be made Free To Play, knowing policy Valve, you say that the game should payoff, but this is not a game like DoD, TF2 or CS: GO, is primarily a multiplayer mode, which has long ceased to be updated.
I ask Valve to think about it or the game will come to desolation as Half-Life Deathmatch Source.

i played this game for many years and i remember you could get the game for free. using the ati/nvidia gift. also, the game in some years ago works much better than actually hl2dm. why need to pay for a game that cause so much troubles? make it foor free, and us share the bugs :D

The game isn't losing ground because it costs; is losing ground due to age and non-tracked gameplay.

I support this idea. It would help grow the player base somewhat, although I can't think of any comparable examples of where valve has made a game F2P before without some form of monetization scheme.

-The game losing ground because there are a lot of bugs, errors and old engine. Players trying to fix this game, trying to help Valve but nothing, I only want to know, what happens with old Valve policy.

-Soo, this games are ten years old too but you updating them: Counter Strike, Counter Strike Source, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 1.

In my opinion HL2: DM is loosing players mostly due to a huge amount of bugs. When Valve set up this GitHub repository the players hoped that it was a way of reporting those bugs to developers. But it seems like most (if not all) HL2: DM issues are ignored. If one wants to have a good multiplayer experience they would rather buy CSS or something else because it's actually updated. And, as it was pointed out, Source SDK 2013 multiplayer code (which is free) pretty much contains HL2: DM entirely. I don't see a reason why HL2: DM should not be free to play to be honest.

I think it's really good idea. Half-Life 2 DM is supported by players and pro community only. There are no Valve servers, only players, and it's not full game, only modification which based on Half-Life 2. And this game was free for all two or three years ago, don't understand why now players need to pay for it.
As far as all we know, Valve wouldn't die if they make it free to play, all donations are coming from Dota 2 or CS:GO. If in this game would be only 50 players or less - then there is no sense to buy it.

From 2004 hud in hl2dm didn't change.
Player dont understand what bullets you picked and there is no alternative bullets icons in HUD.
And there is no avatars in scoarboard and when someone talks in game.
But in all orangebox games it displayed.
I think when orangebox realesed , updates in hl2dm includes only new numbers in build engine version.

Bugs and cheaters (especially from pro community) makes people leave this game.

They weren't updated; they were ported. They still cost, as well. It's not a matter of updating them; it's a matter of having no monetization option for it.

Want the game, but don't want to buy it? You can build it or buy it in a bundle with other games and write it off as free.

Не будет она бесплатной, да и игра то уже устарела... как никак. Осталась небольшая кучка задротов и пару сотни новых игроков, которые по запарке зашли в игру.

Да Петь ты как напишешь… Да будет тебе известно, что clans-united.net это сайт который был создан комьютити хл2дм, а не сервер и да пока не разбомбили мой дом хотя соседних уже и нет и нехера это не смешно тут до хрена трупов и поседевших уже людей некоторым даже 16 не исполнилась. Зато тебе весело видно считаешь, что у тебя есть какой-то проблемы в жизни, но поверь они даже одного процента не стоят того чего у меня тут на Донбассе.
Как бы небыли храмного не забывай, что может быть и хуже и не факт, что война не прейдёт в твой дом,не дай Бог конечно. Сарказм на счёт бесплатной игры был не уместен.

Я имел ввиду именно "серв" как сервер - не игровую выделенку, а физический сервер (для тупых сайты тоже на сервах висят) - это ответ был для особо одарённых на букву "r*"

Даже если она будет бесплатной (как она была в своё время, для владельцев карт АТИ и Нвидии) - всё равно народу не было. Игра устарела, глобально. Осталось куча "старых пердунов" и "левые" игроки, которые забежали на пару тройку дней.

Only 2 games get any support, TF2 and CS:GO (both sell stuff). Valve has forgot on how they got as big as they are,hl2,css,dod and the rest of the half-life series.
