  • Draft Title: Making sense out of pixels: Simple video analysis in JS 🔎
  • Length: 20-30 minutes presentation
  • Links: I have the code in Python here, currently porting it to JS (will add the link once it's available on GitHub)
  • Which dates, particularly Tue/Wed/Thu during the 2nd/3rd week of a month, are you likely available? Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays in April, except for April 15-April 20

Who are we? Curious JS developers!
What do we want? To learn more about video analysis!
How do we want to do it? By performing simple video analysis of professional Overwatch games!

Hi Kim, Interesting proposal!

I'm curious, what is the code portion? How does the talk relate to JS?

Hi @ShMcK 👋 Thank you for reading it!

Right now the code only exists in Python (repo is here, will add the link up there), however I am porting it to JS to use these packages and APIs:

The talk would be a fun (although "fun" is very subjective in this case) way to show how we can cobble all these pieces together to perform simple video analysis 🧩.

I can reword the summary to emphasize this, what do you think? Or should I refocus the proposal on one step of the process (in that case it would either be Azure Cognitive Services or plotly)?

Very cool!

Do you think you'd be available for a talk in March? Dates are flexible

I'll be back in Vancouver on March 6th, any day after that would work 📆

Would March 11th 6-8:30pm work?

I know I said "any day after March 6th", but that was before work asked me to be out of Vancouver between March 9 and March 13, I'm sorry about that 🙈

Hello hello,

I know this has been in limbo for a little while, would it be possible to withdraw this proposal for now?

Sorry for the trouble 😞

Of course, it has been a while. April was a world away.
